Untuk kategori utama, nampaknya Grammy tahun ini menampilkan nilai sama rata apabila Mark Ronson dan Bruno Mars memenangi Record of the Year melalui lagu mereka “Uptown Funk” manakala anugerah utama Album of the Year dan Song of the Year dimenangi oleh Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. Taylor Wift mencipta sejarah aapabila menjadi wanita pertama yang memenangi Album of the Year sebanyak dua kali.

Anugerah Best New Artist dimenangi oleh Meghan Trainor. Bukankah dia telah pun memenangi Grammy tahun lepas? Bagaiman pula dia boleh tercalon untuk kategori ‘new artist?’ Justin Bieber pula mencatat sejarah peribadi apabila memenangi Grammy pertamanya melalui lagu “Where Are U Now?” kolaborasi bersama Diplo and Skrillex.
